The legal issue

Start with the risk, not the form.

Deadlines are short and the correct remedy matters. An appeal, administrative review, fresh application and judicial review serve different purposes.

This service is designed for

  • Applicants with a refusal carrying a right of appeal
  • Applicants offered administrative review
  • Families deciding between challenge and a fresh application

Work included

  • Decision and deadline assessment
  • Advice on the correct remedy and prospects
  • Grounds, evidence plan and case preparation
  • Tribunal bundle and witness statement preparation where included
  • Instructions to counsel where required

Not included

  • Counsel's fees and expert reports
  • Tribunal or Home Office fees
  • A fresh application unless included in writing
  • Upper Tribunal or judicial review work after the agreed stage

£5,400 to £9,000

Likely third-party costs

  • Administrative review fee: £80 where payable
  • Immigration appeal fee: £82 for a decision on the papers or £144 for a hearing, where payable
  • Counsel: commonly £1,500 to £5,000 plus VAT depending on preparation, seniority and hearing length
  • Expert, interpreter and translation fees quoted by the provider before instruction

Government and provider charges can change. We confirm the current amount before payment and do not add a mark-up to a true disbursement.

Typical timing

Contact us as soon as the decision arrives. Filing deadlines depend on the remedy and where the applicant is located. Tribunal and Home Office timetables are outside our control.

Questions clients ask

Before you instruct.

Should I appeal or apply again?

That depends on the right of appeal, the reason for refusal, available evidence and current status. We compare the lawful options before recommending one.

Is a barrister included?

No. Counsel is selected with you and quoted separately. Some administrative reviews do not require counsel.

Can you act after the deadline?

Possibly, but late challenges need urgent advice and an explanation. Contact us immediately rather than assuming the deadline can be extended.
