The legal issue

Start with the risk, not the form.

Nationality law is not simply the last step after settlement. Residence, absences, good character, status and the correct statutory route all need separate attention.

This service is designed for

  • Settled adults considering naturalisation
  • Spouses of British citizens
  • Parents checking whether a child can register as British

Work included

  • Eligibility and residence assessment
  • Good character and immigration history review
  • Advice on referees and supporting evidence
  • Application form and legal representations
  • Submission and routine Home Office correspondence before decision

Not included

  • British passport application after citizenship
  • Complex nationality status opinions or archival research
  • Subject access or historic nationality records unless agreed
  • Review or challenge following refusal

Pricing and scope

Fees you can assess before instruction.

These are London professional fee ranges. Your client care letter will confirm the fixed fee or estimate, VAT, assumptions and payment stages before work begins.

Adult naturalisation or straightforward registration

Child registration and disputed nationality status are quoted after the legal route is identified.

Professional fee
£1,500 to £2,400
VAT at 20%
£300 to £480
Total incl. VAT
£1,800 to £2,880

Likely third-party costs

  • Home Office naturalisation fee: £1,709
  • Adult registration fee: £1,540, or child registration fee: £1,000, where that route applies
  • Life in the UK test: £50 where required
  • English language test, translation or biometric appointment where required

Government and provider charges can change. We confirm the current amount before payment and do not add a mark-up to a true disbursement.

Typical timing

We normally prepare the application within 10 to 15 working days after receiving complete records. Home Office decision and ceremony timing are outside our control.

Questions clients ask

Before you instruct.

Do I need to wait after settlement?

Many applicants must hold settled status for a qualifying period, while different timing can apply to a person married to a British citizen. We check the exact route.

Can a child apply?

A child may already be British or may have a registration route. The answer depends on birth, parents' status and later events.

Does a criminal matter prevent citizenship?

It may affect the good character assessment. We review the facts, disposal and timing before advising whether to proceed.
