The legal issue

Start with the risk, not the form.

Family applications can turn on financial evidence, accommodation, English language, relationship history and the correct application route. Small documentary gaps can create avoidable delay or refusal risk.

This service is designed for

  • Partners applying to join a British or settled person
  • Couples extending permission under the partner route
  • Applicants switching into an eligible family route inside the UK

Work included

  • Eligibility and financial requirement assessment
  • Relationship and accommodation evidence plan
  • Tailored document checklist and full evidence review
  • Application form and legal representations
  • Submission and routine UKVI correspondence before decision

Not included

  • Complex human rights evidence outside the agreed route
  • Expert reports, translation and DNA evidence
  • Dependants unless stated in the quote
  • Appeal or judicial review work following refusal

Pricing and scope

Fees you can assess before instruction.

These are London professional fee ranges. Your client care letter will confirm the fixed fee or estimate, VAT, assumptions and payment stages before work begins.

Partner or spouse application

The range covers standard entry clearance, switching and extension work. Complex income or human rights issues are quoted separately.

Professional fee
£2,400 to £3,500
VAT at 20%
£480 to £700
Total incl. VAT
£2,880 to £4,200

Likely third-party costs

  • Home Office fee: commonly £2,064 for an overseas route-to-settlement application, or £1,407 for an in-country leave application
  • Immigration Health Surcharge: usually £1,035 per adult for each year of permission
  • English language test, translation, biometric appointment and priority service where required

Government and provider charges can change. We confirm the current amount before payment and do not add a mark-up to a true disbursement.

Typical timing

Preparation usually takes 2 to 4 weeks after complete evidence arrives. UKVI processing times vary according to where the application is made and any paid priority service.

Questions clients ask

Before you instruct.

Can savings be used for the financial requirement?

They may be used in permitted circumstances. The amount and holding period depend on how the savings are relied upon, so we calculate this before filing.

Do you write the relationship statement?

We advise on the evidence and prepare legal representations. Personal statements are scoped where they add value to the application.

Are government charges refundable?

Home Office refund rules depend on the charge and what happens to the application. They are separate from our professional fee.
